Well had a eventfull day at the pond.I tried to sail the Virginia but the wind was uncooperative.Mike brought his UL-1 but it was on vacation so it would not do anything.Dave bought a Pro Boat FastTech friday so we got it setup after we got the right batteries for it.Took Mike's UL-1 back to the house and thought we had it fixed and went back to the pond around sundown.Got the boat about in the middle and the propshaft came loose so it went back on vacation.Got it back to shore and tightened it back and went again but something wasn't right with the radeo/reciever.Played with it this morning and changed the tx/rx out with a spektrum and went back to pond. This time it ran like a champ. The wind was up and so was the chop.Ran the batteries down about the time the rain set in.It should be ready for next weekend finally.

Good pics,

Man it's been one thing after another with that UL-1...I can relate...but maybe now everything is ironed out. I don't under stand the radio problems.

Earl...are Dave and Mike wanting to join the club? If they do, they will need to officially join the club by signing a "Hold Harmless Clause" (or your responsible for anything you do stupid form)  and agree to the club rules before they can participate with us on club sail days. This is to help protect the club. Please let them know it's not an option.

I hope to see everyone next Saturday....looks like a real hot dog days of summer sail coming up!

Yea I am pretty sure they will join next weekend.I  think the problem with UL-1 is that it was a ebay buy.The radio issue is the rx.Channel 2 went out on it yesterday. We took the cover off and the bottom of the circuit board had corrosion on it.I feel pretty sure that the boat has been in salt water.Mike bought it to upgrade anyway.I guess it is a case of buyer beware.

You can get a new receiver for around $25.00 at various places. It is supposed to be water resistant and I've had water in mine once and after I let it dry it worked fine. Saltwater....not good on boats!

Yea salt water is not good for anything radio controlled.I may buy another receiver and put it in the Virginia. We put a dx5e setup in the UL-1.
